Privacy & disclosure
Your privacy matters to us.

Navis Foundation Inc. (“we”, “us” or “our”, tax ID 92-2141930) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing pediatric cancer research and restoring childhood through survivorship and wellness. We operate navisfoundation.org to share information about our mission, programs and events, to accept grant applications, and to make it easy to support our work.
Information we collect
- Newsletter sign-ups: your email address, so we can send occasional news about our events and programs.
- Contact messages: your name, email, optional phone number and message, which are emailed to our team so we can reply.
- Unstoppable Grant applications: the details you provide about the applicant, guardian, activity and provider, and an optional photo. This includes health information, such as a diagnosis and treatment dates. Applications are emailed directly to our grants team and are not stored on this website.
- Donations: gifts are processed by Zeffy, our donation platform. We never see or store your card details.
- Technical information: like most websites, our servers briefly process your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and to block spam and abuse of our forms. We do not use this to identify you.
How we use it
We use personal information only to process donations and receipts, review grant applications, respond to messages, communicate with supporters and share updates about our programs and impact. We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Health information in grant applications
We treat the medical details in a grant application as sensitive. Only the people who review and administer grants can see them, and we use them only to decide on and manage the grant. We never publish a child’s health details. Sharing a photo is optional, and we use a photo publicly only if you say yes on the form.
Cookies and tracking
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and we do not track you across other websites. This site stores only what it needs to work:
- Motion setting: if you pause animations, your browser remembers that choice on your device.
- Grant draft: while you fill in a grant application, your answers (never your signature) are kept in your browser tab so a refresh does not lose them. They are cleared when you submit or close the tab.
- Sign-in cookie: used only by Navis staff who sign in to update the website.
Event videos come from YouTube, but nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. After that, YouTube (in privacy-enhanced mode) may set cookies or collect data under its own privacy policy. Because we do not track visitors, we treat Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals as already honored.
Service providers
We rely on a few providers to run this website and our programs. They may handle your information only to provide those services to us:
- Our website host and database provider, which store the newsletter list and the content of this site.
- Resend, which delivers the emails sent from this website, such as contact messages and grant applications.
- Zeffy, which processes donations under its own privacy policy.
- YouTube and Instagram, when you choose to watch a video or visit our social media.
How long we keep it
We keep newsletter addresses until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. Contact messages and grant applications are kept in our email only as long as we need them to reply, run the grant program and meet our legal and accounting obligations. Donation records are kept as long as tax law requires.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted connections, limited access for our team and not keeping grant applications on this website. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
Children’s information
This website is meant for adults. Grant applications are submitted by a parent or legal guardian on behalf of a child. We use a child’s information only to review and administer the grant, and we share photos or stories publicly only with the family’s permission. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Third-party links
This website links to other sites, such as payment processors, sponsors and social media. We are not responsible for their privacy practices and encourage you to review their policies.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any newsletter or by contacting us. You can also ask us to access, correct or delete your personal information by emailing [email protected] or calling (914) 374-2616. We will respond within 30 days.
Donor and charity disclosures
Navis Foundation Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity, tax ID 92-2141930. Gifts are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.
You will receive a receipt for your gift. For gifts of $250 or more, keep it as the written acknowledgment the IRS requires for your deduction.
When a sponsorship, ticket or entry includes goods or services such as a round of golf, a meal or event entry, only the amount above their fair market value is tax-deductible. We state that value in writing for any payment over $75.
We fund research into rare pediatric tumors and give Unstoppable Grants that pay for sports, fitness and recreation for childhood cancer survivors.
